A well-established and much-loved community arts centre commissioned Dualchas to evaluate their current facilities and future plans. We prepared designs for a new facility to house new studios and student accommodation.

The process involved identifying the best site for the new development, that provided  continuity of location, whilst addressing future flood risk and expansion potential.

The solution proposed is simple: a pair of pitched roof forms that gently slip past each other to form staggered gables; with small sheltered spaces at each end. Minimal and sensitive landscaping will allow the buildings to sit lightly on the promontory.
