Situated in the heart of the London borough of Kensington & Chelsea, Taqueria is a popular Mexican restaurant serving colourful street food and is well known in the area. Demand had outgrown the existing premises, and the owners approached Dualchas when they had the opportunity to expand the business by joining with an empty retail unit that had come up for sale adjacent to the existing café.

An unusual floor plan and disjointed existing layout meant that the interiors needed a complete strip out and redesign. This lead to a new design incorporating a central reception space looking directly in to the open plan kitchen, with seating off to both sides and a new bar area in the previous empty retail unit. A muted palette of greys contrast with subtle bronze fittings and exposed brickwork walls, while the new terrazzo floor gives a light and airy feel to the newly opened up spaces.

The new layout has led to a large increase in sales and has proved popular with both regulars and new diners alike.
